Handle Manufacturer of the Past, Bruner-Ivory Co.

The Ivory Handle Factory, incorporated in 1901, produced hardwood handles that were shipped worldwide, in addition to other wood products. It became Bruner Ivory Handle Factory in 1933, was sold to a Tennessee company in 1980 (Link), closed in 2004, and burned on September 25, 2012.

  1. My dad worked there in1941 caught fire in 1942 and he helped put out the fire ,went on to be a fireman at Red River Army Depot(I guess with the experience of the Hope fire)

  2. I am a descendant of the Bruner family who started the original Bruner Broom Factory in Olinda/Gosfield/Kingsville/Furnace (it had all of those names) in Essex County, Canada. It's fun to see the Bruner name included with the ivory handles made later!
